Tips for Successful Article Marketing

Many people use article marketing as a favorable means of marketing. It generates increased targeted traffic to your website which generates a sale for the website. Follow these tips for a successful article marketing campaign:

1. Many people think that it is the number of articles that is important for successful article marketing. However, it is also important that you maintain quality content for attracting and retaining readers. Use the internet for information to make the articles interesting and have readers coming back for more.
2. It is better to maintain sweet and short articles. Readers don’t have the patience to sit for too long in front of the computer reading long articles. So keep articles short and to the point to retain readers’ attention.
3. Introduce variety in your articles. Think of different perspectives that can be used to reach your topics. With various articles, you will be able to target your niche and thus, attract a larger and more interested audience to your site.
4. Make sure your articles have interesting headings. It is the headline of your article that gives a reason as to whether or not a reader should look at your article. The headings should also be keyword centric and use main keyword there.
5. It is better to do some research on the best keywords to use in your articles before writing them. These keywords are the words that readers are most likely to use to find the information in your article. However don’t use too many keywords; too many of them make the article look like spam.
6. It is better to write organized articles with bullets and numbers where possible. This helps in getting your message and point across to readers, and also makes the articles more readable.
7. Make it a habit of proofreading your articles before publishing them. Bad writing and spelling and grammatical errors give you and your product or service a bad impression both in the eyes of readers and search engines bots.

After proofreading, have friends and family go through the articles and listen to whatever comments they give. Sometimes a small but trivial improvement is sufficient to make a difference in the presentation of your article.
8. The best place to place your articles is your website to strengthen the site content and build trust in your visitors. However if you have no website, then you have to make use of the many article directories on the internet. Many people visit these directories; so by publishing your articles in them, with a link to your website, you are sure to see an increase in website traffic.
9. Include a resource box in your article describing and linking to your website.
10. Use the help of social media sites, forums and discussions boards by pasting enough of your article to interest readers to click on the link leading to your website.
11. Link articles of the same subject, to one another. If you have affiliates, let them use your articles for promoting your service or products.

Try these tips and you will soon see an increased traffic to your website and quite a few potential customers amongst these visitors.

Main Reasons for losing SERP - Dropping Keywords Position

Are you losing serp lately? or noticed a huge fluctuation in your SERP? You better check if your site received any penalty from Search Engines.
I know webmasters are now complaining about the drop in SERP in many webmaster forums like Digitalpoint, Webmasterworld etc and most of them have absolutely no idea regarding the Search Engine Penalties. Yes, they do exists.

Search Engine Penalties are different, like -30 penalty, where your SERP will drop 30 positions; -60 penalty, where your site will drop 60 positions. Other few penalties are -100, -500, -950 etc.

There are various reasons to receive penalties and here are a few of them. Its for your own good to follow them and keep doing SEO for your site. Remember, all Search Engines likes clean and simple Websites.

Duplicate Content : Its the main reason to be penalized. Duplicate content not only penalize the site, but also store it at supplimental results. Youhave absolutely no authority to copy the content from some other sites unless you have the copyringt or the copyright owner given you the permission. To prevent penalty, always write quality and unique content. You know, “Content is the King”.

Backlinks : Backlinks also count when it comes to determine the level of penalty. We all know, backlinks from authority sites counted as quality backlinks. What is authority sites? well, a site which is clean, fresh and useful for visitors considered as Authority Site. Backlinks from W@rez, p0rn or G@mbling sites will definitely push your site deeper to the hole. To prevent this, you have to manually check the site which will provide you the backlink.

Paid Links : Every Search engine hates it. In any case, if you sell links from your site or you purchase links for your site will lead your site to receive penalty. Just refrain from this.

Sudden Increase in Baklinks : This surely raise the flag. Search Engines will take them as spam and the site will be penalized. To prevent this, you have to maintain the pace of the link building for your site..

SEO Type : Blackhat SEO is good for “quicky” sites which are made for ads only and its not approved by Search Engines. It will get you the top position very quickly and will disappear from search (un indexed) even faster as soon as Search Engines find out. To sustain in the race, you should apply Whitehat SEO which is harder but approved by Search engines.

Well, this are just the result of my research and may not be 100% accurate. Every Search Enging have their own algorithm to determine the levels, but basics are same.

If you believe you have done everything right according to this post and you still losing SERP, check if you have any new competitor. If not keep building backlinks using the keyword (on which you are losing SERP) as the anchor text.

What are the best and latest SEO Techniques

Yesterday night I have some good conversations with some of my marketing buddies who seems too eager to explore the latest SEO Techniques and want to attain stable ranking on google. We start with some lighter moments . We discuss all options about current online business scenario and the chances of success through tricks, gimmicks and widgets.
It gives me a compelling reason to write something on what should be considered as best SEO Techniques. True SEO is a balance of many factors whose effectivity did vary from time to time and a multitude of white hat techniques – using unique content, frequent updates and Digging and stumbling inlinks, link bait pages, having others in your niche syndicate your content, squidoo, hubpages, social bookmarking, quality directories, commenting on blogs, forums… list goes on and on………..One must first optimize his website and make sure you don’t have under construction pages and then start link building.

Personally I always try to follow Google Guidelines and with continue work on site results come. This is the simple and easy trick for me. So building website which is loved and talked by visitors is the secret for accelerating traffic. But most people dont follow the basics. Onpage and offpage factors can be manipulated but in long run only quality content and user friendly site is what matters. There are some other things as well i.e. - Offering something of genuine use that your competitors haven’t thought of yet. - Undercutting your competitors and potentially taking a loss (special offers, pay to action, etc) - Harnessing an existing and very powerful relevant link profile. - Sending juice from authority websites. For sure you don’t need to employ them all. The real question becomes which of these techniques can be grouped to keep your SEO efforts efficient without investing more time than necessary ?

Internet Marketing 101 - Tips

Think Internet marketing is only for optimizers? Think again. While we do obviously recommend hiring a specialist for search engine optimization services, there are still many steps you can take to market your website yourself. The following tips will help you get the most from your website.

INTERNET MARKETING 101 - GET YOUR NAME & YOUR SITE OUT THERE!

Networking with Links: The Web is built on links. There’s a lot of information out there about linking — not linking, how to link, one way links, reciprocal links. An often overlooked aspect of building links is that it’s a great way to get traffic to your site and get your site name and your business noticed.

First, think about your site visitors - if you were going to create a page, or several pages, that links out to other sites - what places would you link to that would make sense? Create a section on your website and link out to those websites. These links can be similar businesses, local area businesses, industry associations, and industry specific search engines and directories. If you are in a tourist-related industry, you can link to local chambers of commerce, tourism bureaus, restaurants, museums, galleries, local attractions, hotels, motels and inns.

Don’t worry about links back! Concentrate on building a quality resource on your site that you are proud of. Once you have built this section to a point you are happy with, contact the people you’ve linked from and notify them you are linking to them and invite them to link to your site if they would like to. Do not make it a requirement. This is all about sharing links among your community. If you attend mixers or industry events, this is a great time to mention you are linking to their site and invite them to link back to yours. Create a business card for this very purpose that lists the URL of not only your site, but also the resource section you’ve developed.

Build a quality directory, and then put your networking skills to work on your Internet marketing and you’ll be surprised how many links you can develop.

Link Popularity Programs: Many SEO companies offer link popularity programs, including Mannix Marketing! When interviewing a prospective company, make sure you understand how they will be building your links. An experienced company should be able to pull together several quality links for you - many of them one-way incoming links. If you hire a company that is offering you a guaranteed number of links, especially if it’s a large number, make sure that links you “reject” do not count against the guarantee.

The strongest reciprocal links are from “like” sites that are high quality. Many people use the Page Rank Toolbar in Google to determine this, and we do recommend this if you are working on links yourself as it’s a quick and easy way to get a glimpse of how the site is rated by this search engine. Note, however, that Page Rank in and of itself should not be the only determination. Always go back to the question, does it make sense for me to link to this site and for this site to link to me?

A popular email request that’s circulating right now is built on the ‘triangle theory’. A company will buy an expiring domain name that has pretty good Page Rank in Google. They build a huge directory of links on existing page names that have Page Rank. You can usually recognize this by the domain name - it will sometimes seem like an ‘odd name’ for a seemingly random and huge collection of outgoing links. They will not be asking you for a link back to this directory. Instead, they’ll be asking for a link out from your site to a different site they are trying to place for. The email usually tells you this is great for you because you get a one-way link from this fabulous directory. Take a good hard look at the directory - is it linking to everything and anything under the sun? Do you think it will be around in a few months or even a few weeks? Does it make sense for your site to link out to the site they are requesting you to? If it doesn’t feel right or make sense, don’t do it just because their home page has a Page Rank of 6. Always go back to the question, does it make sense for me to link to this site and for this site to link to me?

It is sometimes hard to distinguish between tomorrow’s link farms and quality directories. A good tip is to see who is linking in to them. And, definitely seek advice from an Internet Marketing professional before agreeing to any type of “link program” where for so much a month or a year you get the next miracle answer to links. The better programs offer you leads - in other words, they have what is essentially a private directory of sites that have paid to be in this program, and it’s up to you to contact them for an exchange or they to contact you. The worst programs offer you ‘immediate link exchanges’ with 1500 other sites - which could be so different from your industry it’s just plain worthless - and potentially damaging - to trade links with them. Again, Always go back to the question, does it make sense for me to link to this site and for this site to link to me? If you can’t answer that, move on and let common sense be your guide.

Paid Links: Find out who’s coming up first for your target keywords and who’s reaching your market. Is it hairtransplants.com, www.lakegeorge.com, Albany.com, business.com, www.yourproductname.com? Often these sites have very good numbers (placements, traffic, and page rank) that can help boost you in the search engines. In addition, they often provide you with a lot of traffic, making a paid link on these types of sites a smart Internet Marketing decision.
PLASTER YOUR ADDRESS EVERYWHERE

This is an Internet Marketing tip that’s an oldie but a goody. Every time you get something reprinted, make sure that your website address gets listed on it. For example, if you’re a restaurant, print your address on your menus, brochures, business cards, signage, advertising, email signature, door, handouts, hats and t-shirts! Don’t forget receipts - almost everyone walks out with one! If you are a shopping site, make sure your invoices, shipping labels, boxes, envelopes, catalogs, everything has your address. If you have a bricks and mortar location, is your address on your advertising sign? Your door with your store hours?
MAKE SURE YOUR SITE IS WORTHY OF INTERNET MARKETING

Does your site contain all the basics? Hours, phone number and address… all pertinent contact information. Is it easy to navigate? Allow secure purchases? For the tourist industry, does it allow secure purchase of gift certificates? Invite comments? (You can learn a lot from a contact us page.) If you are a restaurant, do you have your menus, special events, directions, banquet menus online? Do you visually sell the restaurant? Allow online sign up for email specials? What about take out menus? An email sign up would be perfect for this if it is a big part of your business. Does the site list a dress code? How to make a reservation? And don’t forget added benefits for you: links to other area businesses, employment opportunities, printable employment applications. Good Internet marketing will impress your market audience and provide you with a website that does more than look pretty.
INTERNET MARKETING 102 - KEYWORDS

The first step to any Internet marketing campaign is the keywords. How will potential customers find you in the search engines? Work with different keyword combinations to determine the keywords you want to be found under. Make sure you balance broader keyword combinations with more specific keyword combinations. The average person searching on the Internet may start with a broad query, but they quickly narrow it down as they see returned results and learn more about what they are searching for. For example, someone searching for digital cameras may start with “Digital Cameras”… after clicking a couple choices, they may then search on “Nikon digital cameras”… after clicking a couple more choices, they may search on Nikon Coolpix cameras, then narrow it even further to Nikon Coolpix 4800 Digital Camera. The more specific they become, the more likely they are to purchase. Use a search engine like Ask Jeeves where alternate searches are suggested in the upper right hand corner based on what you searched on. This may give you ideas for keyword combinations you hadn’t thought about. Also, use a tool such as www.wordtracker.com to gauge how many people are searching on your keyword choices on a daily basis.

Make sure the keywords are used within the context of your pages and that the pages have a great Title, also incorporating your keywords. Use anchor text where appropriate. Never stuff keywords anywhere and especially in the title tag as that’s how people choose your site in the search engines. Do you think people will want to read a site that uses this as a sales pitch “nikon digital cameras, nikon digital cameras, coolpix nikon cameras….” Or do you think they will want to visit a site that says “Find Nikon Digital Cameras In-Stock Now! Low Prices on ALL Digital Cameras!”
RESEARCH YOUR COMPETITION & MAKE SURE YOUR SITE IS BETTER

A basic component of any marketing strategy is to know your competition. This is especially true in Internet marketing. Do an online search for the keywords you want to be found under. Who is your competition? What is their pricing structure? What keywords do they target? Honestly appraise their site against your own. Is their site better than yours? Why? What do they do better on their site that you may be able to improve upon on your site? Is their site more informative? Is it easier to navigate? Do they have a newsletter you can sign up for? Join it and learn what they are telling their potential customers.

Are you the “expert” in your industry? If so, share your knowledge on your site. Write feature articles for your website. Volunteer to write articles for others with the stipulation that they link back to your website and your business. This is a great way for you to not only improve traffic to your website, but improve brand recognition for your company.
BUILD LOYALTY AND TOP OF MIND AWARENESS THROUGH EMAIL CAMPAIGNS

Your customer base may know who you are, but do they think of you FIRST when they need your type of product? If not… keep your business in the minds of anyone who has been to your site or business through email marketing. Offer a sign-up on your site so they can be the first to find out about your new products. Offer “weekly tips”, or send out monthly coupons. Make sure you only send email to those you’ve requested it through your site. And, make sure the email has a BENEFIT for the customer… not just free publicity for you.
TRACK YOUR WEBSITE STATISTICS AND ANALYZE!!!

Most hosting packages come with stats. If your site doesn’t, ask for it or change hosting companies. Don’t just look at hits - look at unique visitors, referrers, exit and entry pages, time spent on site, and keyword combinations used to arrive at your site.

Any site that can measure a conversion (a sign up, a purchase, an action) should truly analyze traffic patterns, keywords and pay per click programs with a good tool. Our favorite and the one we use for our clients is: Click Tracks Web Stats software program

SEVEN TIPS FOR SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

i m going to share Seven Secrets tips of SEO

1. Research Your Keyword Phrases.
Invest the time and do your research. What do users type in the search engines when looking for services or products on your site. We use a few tools such as WordTracker, Keyword Discovery and Overture’s Keyword Selector tool among others to find out what keyword phrases are best to target. Never assume you know which keywords to target until you do the research. I guarantee you will learn something about your business and your target audience when you do. Finding a keyword you didn’t realize was being searched on can add visitors and increase conversions.
2. Design an SEO-Friendly Website.
I cringe every time I see an all Flash site and I’m asked to achieve high rankings for said site. As much as Flash can hurt a site for rankings there are other things to be aware of, such as: sparse text, poorly written code, javascript on your pages, 404 errors, using graphics instead of text, javascript navigation, deeply nested pages and pages that can’t be found by clicking a link are just a few. Make sure a someone with SEO knowledge with the site design and build. While later is better than never, ideally you want the SEO consultant to work with the designers and programmers.
3. Write Unique Page Titles.
I wrote about this earlier so take a look at my post on How Important Are Website Titles. It is critical that every web page on your site have a different and unique title. It is the most important part of your web page when search engines are determining your web page message and ranking. This is easy, so be sure to do it.
4. Write Focused Content.
This may appear to be simple common sense, but too often a web page will try to be too many things and dilute its true message. Each thought, theme or topic should have its own web page. If you sell dog products, then a page for each category would be needed. Dog toys would be a major category with its own page, but chew toys would be a new page and so on. You wouldn’t mix chew toys and dog bedding. The search engines want to see a focus so they know what to rank your web page for as well as where to rank your web page.
5. Insert Keywords.
If you have written a descriptive and keyword-rich title it follows suit that your page content is also going to have keywords throughout. Write for humans, but keep in mind the search engines. You don’t want to overdue it, but you do want your page theme to be evident. List your keyword phrase in your titles, headers and content and the search engines will know reward you with higher visibility.
6. Build Keyword-Rich Links.
There is nothing more important for the high ranking success of your site than strategic link building. And with that said, there is nothing more important than choosing the right text to link to your site. If your company name is “Big Oak Studios” and you are an SEO company then you better be sure to request any links pointing to your site have similar terms such as SEO, company, firm, search engine optimization, marketing, Internet somewhere in the links. Let the link state your business, not your web address or company name.
7. Find Quality Links.
Since acquiring links is the most important off-site task you can do, then it would reason you should do it right. While having a large number of links is important, making sure they are quality is tantamount to your site’s success. This is especially true in high competition areas. Quality links from sites with authority (popular and trusted sites) carry more weight. One link from an authority site can be worth a hundred or more low-quality sites.

10 Ways to Improve Blog Traffic in 30 Minutes or Less

1. Create link clusters within your blog

A link cluster is a group of links that you can point at a post or page to improve its search engine ranking. Let’s say you have a post that’s ranked for ’stupid business ideas’. Edit 10 of your other posts to create links (using ’stupid business ideas’ as the anchor text) to the ’stupid business ideas’ post and you will surely move up in Google for that keyword. This process can be implemented in about 10 minutes and can be used for any keyword your site ranks for or is trying to rank for.

2. Rework HTML title tags of trafficked posts

By watching your stats, you can often identify posts that get search traffic from a keyword, even though the keyword isn’t listed in the HTML title of the post. By editing your posts’ HTML titles to add the keywords they cover, you can strengthen the rankings and therefore the traffic that the post generates. You can easily make a difference with this method in less than 20 minutes. This method combines very well with #1.

3. Invite your readers to connect with you on StumbleUpon and Facebook

You can never ever have too many friends on SU and Facebook. Inviting existing readers to find you on these services with a post should take less than 20 minutes.

4. Save your best posts for the best times of the week

Writing a home-run post on a Saturday afternoon will probably happen from time to time. However, does your blog have good traffic on Saturdays? Analyzing your blog’s stats to determine when it naturally has the most traffic can get more eyes on a great post, which will translate to more social votes and more links. If you have created the post of your life, wait for a good day to publish - it will cost you about 1 minute on a later date to put it up.

5. Edit your post one more time

How can you improve your title? How can you improve your first paragraph? Small details in your post, especially in the beginning of your post, can make an enormous difference in its ability to draw social traffic and links. You can definitely improve your title, first paragraph, formatting, and grammar within 30 minutes.

6. Stop writing about yourself. Start solving problems

Surfers become readers when a blog provides something that is wanted. A casual visitor may read your blog because they find training, answers to problems, entertainment, or something else they want. This more than likely will mean that they won’t want to read about you, your girlfriend, your cats, your kids, or your catastrophes (unless you have a personal blog that your friends read). Discontinuing the off-topic posts will help you to develop more repeat traffic and takes exactly 0 minutes to implement.

7. Subscribe to the feeds of your industry’s major players

That way, you won’t miss important news releases. When news breaks in your industry, there will be a lot of extra traffic searching for information on the event. Adding your thoughts will almost always generate extra traffic. Subscribing to the feeds of your industry’s top sites should take no more than 15 minutes.

8. Give a great post to a prominent blog

Let’s say that you took the time to write something great. Donating your post to a great blogger can help you to create a win-win. The great blogger gets a great piece of content that will bring him social traffic and links and you can create exposure for your name and brand. Emailing your post to a great blogger or blog takes less than 10 minutes.

9. Go to the store

Look at magazines. Pay special attention to the types of titles that are used on the covers. Write down the most interesting titles and think about what makes them interesting. In order to generate buzz around a post, a great title is an absolute necessity. More on this topic here: The Cosmo Headline Technique for blogging inspiration. You should be able to find some good title ideas in about 30 minutes.

10. Answer your email and comment questions

Nothing will show a reader that you care more than answering an question (even if you have already answered that question 100 times on your site). Why do people read your blog? Because you solve their problems. Why will they come back again and again to your blog? Because you solve their problems. Answering a person’s email or comment question should take less than 5 minutes.
